My wife and I both want careers we’re proud of.
I work in marketing in startup tech.
She’s a preschool speech-language pathologist — and also coaches the cheer and dance teams at the local high school.

We love our work.
But more than that — we love the life we’re building.

Then our daughter was born.
Now she’s almost two — beautiful, hilarious, life-changing.
And while she’s brought more joy than we ever imagined…
she’s also brought more responsibility, stress, and decisions than we ever expected.

Suddenly, everything became clocking into shifts.

We clock out of work... and clock right back in at home.
Bedtime. Bottles. Meal prep. Meltdowns.
Calendar coordination. Constant negotiation.
All before we can even breathe — let alone talk like partners again.

No one warned us how easy it would be to become co-parents instead of a couple.

So we started asking:

How do we stay organized together…
communicate better…
and actually feel close — while building careers and a family?

That’s what PowerPair is all about.
It’s not just about parenting or work — it’s about the space in between.
Where connection is built — or lost — in the tiny moments of the week.

We’re not perfect.
But we’re learning.
And we’re building small rituals that are helping us feel like a team again — not just coworkers with rings.

If you’re in the same place, this newsletter is for you.

Every Thursday, we share ideas, tools, and honest moments from this season of life — the one no one really prepares you for.

Reply and tell us what your hardest hour of the week looks like.

You’re not alone — and you’re not doing it wrong. You’re just doing both shifts.
